10 reasons to join AYME!

  1. It's free!
    AYME is completely free to join for all young people with ME/CFS between the ages of five and 25.
  2. Support and understanding
    AYME is the best support nationally available for children and young people with ME/CFS because it’s run by young people with ME/CFS for young people with ME/CFS.
  3. Access to all our services
    As a member you will have access to all of AYME's services, such as access to a busy members-only online community, our bi-monthly magazine full of information on ME and stories and articles by our members, postal libraries for free books and videos on ME, , pen pals, regional contacts around the country for local support and friendship, buddies for severely affected members, and much, much more.
  4. Help with understanding and dealing with your illness
    Our local rate national telephone helpline is open Monday to Friday 10am-2pm to take calls from you or your parents or carers, or you can email us any time and get a response as soon as we're able.
  5. Useful literature
    Our Resource Pack lists helpful books, videos and information leaflets that are available. The books "A Ray Of Hope" and "Three Villains” are particularly useful. There is loads of information available on our information sheets in print and on the web.
  6. Everyone else in AYME is just like you
    Everyone in AYME has ME/CFS! We all understand what you are going through and many members share with you exactly the same symptoms and feelings.
  7. You can make new friends (if you want to)
    Young and old(er), as many or as few as you like, we have many schemes to help break the isolation ME causes. You will have no problem making friends with like-minded people who understand.
  8. No Commitment
    You don't have to do anything if you don't want to. Just know that we're there if you need us.
  9. Your family gets support too
    No-one is forgotten at AYME. There’s a Parents Network to put AYME parents and carers in touch with each other, and LINK Associates where parents can receive a bi-monthly news, research and education bulletin and discuss issues on their own message board http://www.aymelink.org.uk.
  10. Help us to help you
    The more members AYME has the louder our voice is when we represent young people with ME/CFS in the government, the medical colleges and the press.
