Raise a Fiver for AYME

Welcome to AYME's 'Raise A Fiver' campaign. We hope that you will join us in having a good time with this and making a big difference to young people with M.E.

We all know that fundraising can seem intimidating whether you are ill or not, so we wanted to start with an achievable target to show you that rather than being daunting, fundraising can be enjoyable! Fundraising can be an excellent way not only to get involved with and support AYME and awareness of ME, but it is also a great achievement, can gain you valuable skills and most of all you can have a lot of fun along the way!

You can take a look at the fundraising pages of the website, to get lots of starting points for your own ideas, or keep an eye on things below, because we'll keep updating this page with new fundraising ideas and tips. But don't feel you need to wait for that, whether your event be big or small, there is no reason not to get your thinking caps on and make a start now. You could organise a small event that aims to Raise A Fiver, for example a cake sale, a sponsered sit or a collection, or you can start planning a bigger event hoping to raise several fivers, maybe a pamper night or a quiz evening.

This is something for everyone to get involved with and have a giggle along the way. Whether you aim to raise one fiver or many, every little bit is incredibly important and you are making a real difference.

Go on, be inspired and have FUN!

Every Penny Counts

Every £5 raised will:

• Help fund AYME's website and message board.
• Help fund the membership services that find new friends and reduce the isolation of having ME.
• Help buy the material for the Teddy Team that provide our illest members with comfort.
• Help fund the cost of posting out library books that provide valuable information to our members.
• Help fund AYME's efforts in raising awareness of M.E.
• Help fund a volunteer's expenses for work that develops skills and vital CV references that they often struggle to get otherwise and can be valuable for future education or job opportunities.
• Pay for one copy of CHEERS, AYME's flagship magazine, to be written, printed and delivered.
• Help fund our experts on the telephone helpline that provides essential support and information.
• Help fund the work of our National Support Worker with our most in need families and individuals.
